The adventure by train from Luanda to Ndalatando is the best way to get in touch with the people. The train drive takes about 7 hours, which means that the trip will only be a half-way trip to the Calandula Falls. The car will be waiting for you at the train staion in Ndalatando to continue our trip to the waterfalls.
Calandula Falls lie in the course of the Lucala River and are with the highest in Africa with a drop of might now be now only of around 101 m. Although the waterfall outside Angola are not yet well known, they are among the most impressive natural wonders of Angola.
In contrast to the well-known African waterfalls, such as the Victoria Falls, the Calandula Falls are still a heaven of tranquility.
Far away from mass tourism, one can often admire and enjoy this spectacle onits own. Here you can experience the real Africa.
The province Malanje is rich in sights. The Pedras Negras "black stones" are a mystical place with an interesting history. The historic site was the venue of the resistance to the Portuguese.
